July 27, 1955 - May 16, 2021
Alan was a talented musician (some say “the world’s best steel guitar player” (his modesty would tell you otherwise)), fisherman, pilot, lover of animals, player of Temple Run, brewer, mentor, but most importantly trusted friend, great brother, loving husband, and wonderful & devoted dad who was incredibly proud of his children.
No matter how long or short a conversation was with Alan he somehow always managed to say “Love you!” and he always meant it. He loved hard and was loved hard back. His kind gentle spirit was to find the good in every and all things except inconsiderate drivers and people who are abhorrently rude.
He loved talking swimming pool issues (hated them), airplanes, music, politics, and the Good Lord. He was one of the good ones and hello’s would often turn into an hour conversation. He was a true Renaissance man, with more talents than most. He could fix anything from a broken light switch to rebuilding an entire house from the ground up. He was always a gentleman, and was a versatile steel guitar player ranging from polka to country.
A recent move took him to Cedar Creek Lake which he often said he couldn’t believe he was able to enjoy such a beautiful spot surrounded by nature and wildlife. Although it was a mere blink that he got to relish his new house and surroundings he is now free to enjoy the splendors of Heaven where he is enjoying time with his parents and all that have passed before him.
Alan was an easy-going soul, laid-back, and funny (and he thought himself to be very funny indeed). He left behind a beautiful legacy which we will carry with us as we continue to live our best life in honor of his memory. Rest in Peace and until we see you again.
