Alfred Ray Bartlett

Alfred Ray Bartlett, 72, Lindale, Texas, passed away on the morning of April 24, 2024, in Tyler, Texas after a long illness. A viewing will be held this Saturday afternoon, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard.

Al “Ray” was born November 28, 1951, in Mexia, Texas. His family later moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where he attended school. He was a meat buyer for Malone and Hyde in Monroe, Louisiana - for ten years. He then worked as a salesman for various companies in Monroe, Louisiana, and in Tyler, Texas. Ray retired in December 2021. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist in Tyler, Texas.

His passion and favorite pastime was working in his yard – this is where he was happiest. He could not leave a leaf on the ground, a weed unpulled or a blade of grass uncut. He found joy in taking an unruly yard and restoring order. He will be missed by all who loved him, but those who loved him know he is at peace.

Mr. Bartlett is proceeded in death by parents, Alford Bartlett and Billie Bartlett Smith, his Stepfather, Bob Smith and sister, Jeannie Wade.

Ray is survived by his wife, Mellonie of Lindale, Texas; his in-laws, Derrell Clark and wife, Wilma of Arp. Texas; his sister Alphia Medine and husband Tommy of St. Francisville, Louisiana, Donny Bartlett and wife, Claudette of Monroe, Louisiana, Brother -in-law Buddy Wade of West Monroe, Louisiana and Brother-in-law, Ron McKay and wife, Darline of Frankston, Texas, his daughter Stephanie Green and Husband, Lee of Dubach, Louisiana, son, Chris Bartlett and wife, Mickie of Sheridan, Arkansas, daughter, Bethany Snow and husband, Todd of Bullard, Texas, and daughter, Amanda Enright and husband Trey of Bullard, Texas, Grandsons, Phillip Green and wife, Destiny of Calhoun, Louisiana, CJ Green of West Monroe, Louisiana, Bailey Green of Dubach, Louisiana, Ryan Enright and Riley Enright of Bullard, Texas, Aden and Liam Bartlett of Sheridan, Arkansas.; Granddaughters, Emily Enright of Bullard, Texas. and Chloe Snow of Bullard, Texas.

Mr. Bartlett has three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at Mulhearn’s Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana, at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
