Charles Ray Waggoner, 86 of Paris passed from this life Friday November 22, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date to be determined.
Charles was born January 11, 1938 in Lamar County, a son of John and Amy Waggoner. He worked most of his adult life as a welder at Babcox-Wilcox in Paris, Texas. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting with his Son Mark, grandchildren Tanner and Ty, and lifelong friend Teddy Brakebill. He never missed any of his grandchildren’s sporting or other events. He was always there taking the pictures.
On May 27th, 1961, he married the love of his life Janell Pickering. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, his loving wife of 54 years Janell Waggoner. Survivors include his wife Shanda, one son Mark and his wife Jennifer of Paris; one daughter Julie Preston and her husband Donald of Forney; five grandchildren, Tanner Waggoner and his wife Alli of Paris; Ty Waggoner and his wife Mara of Paris; Ethan Preston and his wife Mckinsey of Forney; Luke Preston and his wife Ashley of College Station; His only granddaughter Hannah Preston of Chattanooga, TN. He was blessed to have known two great-grandsons, Jack Bradley Waggoner son of Tanner and Alli, Moses William Preston son of Ethan and McKinsey. Michael Miller and Misty Ray that Charles loved as his own children. Lifelong special friends Teddy and Liala Brakebill. Numerous other extended family, friends, nieces and nephews.
