On the evening of July 21, 2021, Debra Lynn Hayden died suddenly at the age of 67. Debra was born to David and Gloria Ann Turner on July 16, 1954. After working as a professional artist, she began a 20-year teaching career at Duchesne Sacred Heart Academy in Houston as a middle school art teacher before retiring in 2019. Also in 2019, She married her partner of 20 years, Anne Konz. Debra was known for capturing the beauty of God’s creation in her art and considered her art both a ministry and way of inspiring and comforting others. She loved nature and animals, especially horses, and nurtured many “rescues” over the years. Her faith and love for life was contagious.
Debra is preceded in death by her mother, father, and stepmother Betty Turner as well as her brother, Michael and her niece, Kim. She is survived by her spouse, Anne and sisters Cindy, Vickie, Sandy, and Terry and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church – Mt Pleasant at 11 AM on August 14. The church’s address is 105 Redbud Ln, Mt. Pleasant. The service will also be streamed through their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/fccmptx.
