Graveside Services for Dora Evelyne Cason Tompkins, 93, of Tyler, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020 at Concord Cemetery in Chandler, Texas with Rev. Dennis Harris officiating. A brief visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Concord Cemetery in Chandler.
Mrs. Tompkins went to be home with her Lord on Sunday, May 24.
Mrs. Tompkins was born on March 22, 1927 in Brownsboro, Texas where she was raised. She graduated as an honor student from Brownsboro High School.
Evelyne married and lived in Noonday in the mid 1940's where she resided the remainder of her life. She was a active member, pianist and organist at Noonday Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was an avid musician playing classical and contemporary piano for many special occasions.. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Mrs. Tompkins was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Mae Lawson Cason; her husband, Hubert Tompkins; son, Jimmy Lee Tompkins; daughter, Carolyn Mae Tompkins; brothers, John Calvin Cason and Leon W. Cason, and sister, Florence Cason Marsh.
Mrs. Tompkins is survived by three grandsons; Dustin Tompkins, Chris Tompkins, and Shane Tompkins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Tompkins, Ken Tompkins, Josh Tompkins, Ricky Tompkins, Dustin Tompkins, Kenneth Tompkins, and PC Tompkins.
Special music will be provided by Barbara Tompkins Siragusa.
