Ernest James Davlin went to be with our Lord and Savior on the morning of August 26, 2022. He passed peacefully in his home with loved ones around.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Allie Rains, his parents Preston and Marie Davlin, his oldest brother Jimmy Davlin, and his youngest brother Jerry Davlin.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laura Davlin of Bullard Texas, his son Jamie Davlin (Tona), Steve Davlin (Shanna), stepdaughter Kim Conlon, stepson Steven Rogers (Lisa). Grandchildren, Cody Davlin, Ryan Davlin, Hunter Davlin, Harlie Davlin, Hanna Davlin, Ashley Conlon, Amanda Conlon, Alyssa Conlon, Kaitlyn Rogers, Caden Rogers and 5 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother David Davlin (Dena), and Tommy Davlin (Beverly) sister-in-law Kay Davlin and many nieces and nephews who were a big part of his life.
Ernest retired from Entex, now called CenterPoint Energy in Tyler, Texas in 2002 at age 56. He loved restoring classic cars and trucks and could now spend more time doing what he loved. Anyone that knew him also knew how much he enjoyed watching Nascar racing and the Dallas Cowboys and that he seldom missed a game.
His home was a gathering place for grandchildren to have a cousins weekend, and a refuge for extended family in the Beaumont area to escape during hurricane season. He also loved taking road trips with his wife to visit family in Arizona.
Memorial service will be at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard, TX. Friday, September 16th. Visitation at 1:00PM and service to follow at 1:45PM.
