In Loving Memory of a Beautiful Life
The world is a little bit darker with the passing of Ernestine Lee Luna and our lives are a little brighter because of her time here with us. With a reflective sense of sadness, we bid farewell to a truly remarkable woman who left an indelible and unique mark on each of us. Her radiant smile lit up every room she entered and brought comfort to all those she met.
Born January 24, 1942, Erni moved several times during her childhood creating lifelong friends everywhere she went. She graduated from La Marque High School then went to college at Sam Houston State University to become a teacher. While working to put herself through college, she met a baseball player who would become her husband for nearly 62 years.
Erni moved to the Houston area and taught high school English and Spanish for a short time before becoming a full time stay at home mom. She focused on raising her two children and provided them the faith-based example of an unwavering, strong Christian woman.
Erni stayed active, as was her competitive nature, enjoying organized leagues that included: bowling, softball, tennis, volleyball and eventually golf. This remarkable 81-year-old played golf up until the day before she peacefully went to join the Lord, family, and friends in Heaven.
Erni is proceeded in death by her daughter Suzy, mother Dora, father Ernest, sisters Barbara and Nikky with whom, I am sure she is laughing out loud and doing her best to beat them at some table game, most likely 42.
Erni has gone ahead and will be waiting patiently for her husband Paul, son Dillion (Paul Jr.), daughter-in-law Teresa, and grandchildren Jayden, Raygen and Blaze. She is survived by her three sisters as well: Darla Mattes, Elaine Van Horn and Debbi Pavlu.
Erni lived her life beautifully, faithfully, and lovingly and everyone she touched was better for knowing her.
Please join family and friends at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22nd at Flint Baptist Church, 11131 FM 2868 W., Flint, Texas 75762. We will be gathering to fondly remember Erni. We will be celebrating a life well lived and the beautiful memories she bestowed upon all of us. This memorial service will honor a woman who lived as a shining example of how a wife, mother, and friend should be.
Rest In Paradise, Dearest Erni. You will forever be cherished, loved, and celebrated in all of our hearts.
