Funeral services for Ervil Thomas Stover, age 86 of Jacksonville will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Rev. Tim Lovelady officiating. Burial will follow at the Reese Cemetery.
Ervil was born February 28, 1934, in Dialville, Texas to Thomas Edward Stover and Ethel Elizabeth Donahue Stover. He had resided in Jacksonville all of his life and retired from the City of Jacksonville Street Department after 17 years. He loved
Farming, working with the soil, spending time outdoors and being with his family. He was a member of the Assembly of God faith. He passed away on September 10, 2020 at his residence.
Ervil was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Ed Stover and George Stover, and his sisters, Della Plaunty and Flossie Laney.
Ervil is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vonnie Lorene Ponder Stover of Jacksonville, his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Edward and Becky Stover of Jacksonville, four sisters, Gracie House of Frankston, Bernice and Ed Lovelady of Nacogdoches,
Reba and Ron Berry of Whitehouse and Ethel Lewis of Jacksonville, two grandchildren, Jamie and wife Skylar of Jacksonville and Kristina Stover of Tyler and two great grandchildren, Izsabelle and Riley, as well as many other family members.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lewis, Paul Higgenbotham, John Stringer, Paul Laney, Bo Smith and Mark Dickson.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
