Fayette Shores Matheny, 71, of Tyler Texas peacefully passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023. She was born on July 13, 1952, in Archer City, Texas to AD Shores and Faye (Chilton) Shores.

Fayette resided in Tyler, TX with husband David Matheny. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, animals and helping others in need. She was most known for being outspoken, loving her grandkids and kids, going out to eat with family and friends.

She proceeded in death by her parent, AD Shores and Faye Chilton, nephew Alan Douglas Shores.

 She is survived by her husband of 30 years David Matheny, children Mat Allen with wife Terri Allen, Toni Laird with husband Bryan Laird, brother Morris Shores with wife Pam Shores, Doug Shores with wife Carol Shores and sister Lillian Farmer with husband Leon Farmer. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, Breann Allen, Jesse Allen, Taylor Allen, Garet Allen, Katie Laird, Halie Laird, and Paige Laird. She also leaves nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family asked for privacy at this time.
