In Loving Memory of Jack Merrill Allison
Jack Merrill Allison, a proud veteran, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home in Tyler, Texas, on February 18, 2024, at the age of 76.
Jack was born on August 11, 1947, and grew up to be a man of unwavering integrity and compassion. He served his country with honor in the US Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his commitment to duty and sacrifice. As a true “Jack” of all trades, he continued with a mulititude of career paths in his lifetime.
Jack's devotion extended beyond his military service to his family. He married his beloved wife, Vicki Lynn Ligon, on April 27, 1985, and together they shared a life filled with love, lots of laughter, and adventure. Jack was a dedicated husband and his family was the cornerstone of his life. His presence will be deeply missed as an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Jack and Vicki shared a passion for travel and spending quality time with friends and family. They were known for hosting lively parties, creating cherished memories that brought joy to everyone around them. Their love for celebrating life together was a testament to the warmth and hospitality they extended to all.
In addition to his family life, Jack had a passion for cars and golf. Whether he was behind the wheel of his T-Bird or on the green with his clubs, he found joy in these pursuits. His enthusiasm for life extended to his charitable endeavors, particularly with Meals on Wheels, where he dedicated his time to helping those in need.
Jack Allison leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and generosity. His impact on the lives of those around him will be remembered fondly by family, friends, and the community he served.
Jack is survived by his wife, Vicki Allison, children, Jason Allison and wife Jennifer, of Luella, Texas, David Allison and wife Letty, of Carrolton, Texas, their children and grandchildren, and his brother Rodney and wife Janice of Grain Valley, Missouri.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on March 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Landmark Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. May Jack rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
