James Edward Biles

Graveside services are scheduled for 86 of Flint, Tuesday November 24 at 2:00pm at the Whitehouse Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Jones Officiating.James went to be with his lord and savior, November 20,2015.Mr. Biles was born June 14, 1929 to the late the Howard and Anna Canfield Biles, in Borger TexasHe is survived by his wife Elizabeth Cooper Biles, FlintHe is also survived by his sons James and Tina Biles Jr of Flint and David and Ruth Biles of Garner NC. Daughters, Susan and John Yerby of DeRidder LA and Deborah and Albert Nichols of Grove City PA. Grandchildren, BJ Barker Jr, Jessica Cole, Justin Biles, Julie Beth Bennett, Nancy Yerby and Schuyler Biles and 4 great grandchildren.Mr. Biles became a Christian about age 7. He began his studies Texas A&M College at age 15, James was a member of the "Corps" and the "Fighting Texas Aggie Marching Band" graduating in 1951 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On Sept 1, 1951, James and Elizabeth were married in Bryan Texas. James served 2 years in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 "“ 1953. During this time, James and Elizabeth had their first child Deb.In 1953 James accepted a job with Texas Power & Light Company in Trinidad, Texas. During this time, James and Elizabeth had their second child Susan, and their third, Jim while living in Frisco, Texas. In 1957, James accepted a job with Southland Paper in Lufkin and David was born in 1959. His Family moved to Houston in 1968 (still with Southland Paper). James moved to Monroe, La in 1974, accepting a job with Ford, Bacon, & Davis Engineering Firm. James and Elizabeth moved back to Lufkin in 1984 to open Lufkin Photo and Visual Engineering. They retired to Timpson in 1993 "“ enjoyed rural lifestyle (goats beekeeping, donkeys, guineas, geese, dog, chickens) then moved to Flint in Jan, 2015Some of the highlights of James life include being one of the U.S. leaders in designing and building co-generation facilities; authored several papers and presented at conferences He was active in the Baptist Church (including Properties Committee, Library, Junior High Training Union Director, he sang in the Adult Choir. Outside interests are Genealogy (volunteered at Texas Genealogical Society - TAGHS) voracious reader, Bible History, science/electronics, he loved garage sales and bargains. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. But most of all, he loved his Family and his wide circle of friends.
