James Russell Williams Jr., 59 of Tyler,Texas passed away after a short illness surrounded by his family and a close friend on May 13, 2023.
James, also known as Jimmy or J.R. by everyone that knew him, was born October 16, 1963 in Henderson, Texas to James and Shirley Williams. He attended Troup Schools and Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler.
As a small boy, Jimmy was full of energy and was in constant motion. He would play outside and explore from the time he would wake up in the morning until the street lights came on at night. He was constantly laughing, running, riding bikes and getting into mischief.
As an adult, Jimmy worked buying and selling equipment in the oilfield and various other areas.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family as often as possible. He took great pride in his three children Ashley, James III, and Joey.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother Christopher Lee Williams. He is survived by his three children Ashley Nelson, James Russel Williams III, and Joey Williams, his mother and father, James and Shirley Williams, two sisters, Melissa Williams and Regina Walston as well as many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and his many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023at 11a.m. at the Gospel Barn at 515 South Railroad Ave. in Troup, Texas. If you wish to send flowers please instruct the florist that they will need to be delivered to the Gospel Barn between 9:00 and 10:30 on the morning of the service.
