Joan Hendrix, age 80, of Bullard, TX passed away in the late hours of December 30,2021. Joan was born on October 3, 1941, in Jacksonville, TX. She was the first born of identical twin sisters to the late Sam and Sybil Chancellor-Lovelady of Jacksonville. Joan was survived by her husband J.M. Hendrix of Bullard, TX, three children, Paul Sherman of Henderson, TX. Donna Sherman of Pasadena, MD, and Jaya Berry of Flint, TX., five grandchildren, Brittany Sherman of Marshall, TX, Chad Sherman of Flint, TX, Michael Monteagudo of Denison, TX, Lisa Monteagudo of Houston, TX and Dustin Berry of Flint, TX five great-grandchildren, & multiple nieces and nephews.
Joan had multiple jobs over her lifetime, but she cherished her final years as a housewife and grandmother the most. She was known for her crocheted afghan blankets, which she loved to make until her arthritis prohibited her from crocheting.
Joan was a member of Carpenter's Cross Baptist Church of Lake Palestine. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and crocheting. She delighted in visiting with friends and family over the years.
Joan will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Memorial Park at 722 Lawrence St. in Jacksonville, TX. She will only have graveside services on Tuesday, January 4,2022 at 2:00 pm.
