The kind and loving soul of Jon William Hallman left this earth on March 10, 2024 in Tyler, TX. Jon was born on July 5, 1961 in Longview, son of James Hallman and Mari Wommack Dosier. Jon graduated from Hallsville schools in 1979 and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an industrial electrician for Cardinal Health in Jacksonville until his retirement in 2021. Jon loved spending time in his workshop, reading (his favorite tale was Gunga Din), searching for treasures at the Hidden Warehouse in Tyler, and watching shows such as Forged in Fire and anything with William Shatner. He had a sharp sense of humor. And he was a fighter, having been victorious against two bouts of lung cancer.
Jon is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Schultz of Bullard; daughter Tara Hallman of Norwich, CT; sister Jamie Sipes and her husband Rick of Lakeport, TX; bonus son Taylor Durrenberger of Nacogdoches; and 5 beautiful grandchildren: Kelsie, Derek, Mason, Bryson, and Brooklynn.
A celebration of life will take place Friday, March 15, 2024 from 11:30 am -12:45 pm at Jon's favorite restaurant, Beverly's Country Cafe, located at 1712 S. Jackson St. next to Harbor Freight in Jacksonville, TX.
