Juanita Ann Curnutt, 64, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Tyler, Texas.
Juanita was born to Jerry Madison Spier and Sybil Ruth McElroy on May 29, 1957 in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from John Tyler High School and became an accomplished professional chef and kitchen manager over 31 years. Juanita married the love of her life, James Arthur Curnutt, in Reno, Nevada on March 3, 1999.
Juanita proudly wore many titles over the course of her life. She was a daughter and Christian, a Spier and Curnutt, a chef and carpenter, a camper and angler, a writer and author, an artist and creator, and forever a Texan. For those who knew her best, the titles she honored with the depths of her soul were that of a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and friend. Juanita’s sharp wit and infectious sense of humor were the windows of her humanity that illuminated her limitless compassion and humility within.
Juanita is survived by her husband James Curnutt, son Alden Curnutt, daughters Tabatha and Linda Perry, seven grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Her memory in the minds of those around her will forever last as the daring captain of life’s seas and safe harbor of life’s storms.
