Ms. Julia Amelia Balcomb, age 90, passed away peacefully in Jacksonville Texas, December 26, 2019.
She was born November 04, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Edwin and Winifred Gustavson. She relocated to Ellensburg WA, where she spent the majority of her life raising her daughter and son and watching her grandchildren grow up. She spent the last of her years in Texas with her daughter, two granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Day and Son-in law Tim Cox. Julia is survived by her older sister, Edna Chester. She leaves behind her daughter, Darlene Cox and son Wes Potter and his wife Marcy Potter. She was a proud grandmother to Crystal Larimer (and husband Jesse Larimer) and Candee McCormack (and husband Nick McCormack) and also her four great grandchildren.
Julia was an active member of her church throughout her life. She enjoyed drawing, painting and gardening. She was passionate about animals and wildlife.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Boren-Conner Cemetery at 2 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, located at Boren-Conner Cemetery, 51825 Highway 69 South, Bullard, TX 75757 Friends and family welcome. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jim Goforth from First Baptist Church Mixon.
