In Loving Memory of Linda Bradley Pierce (1940-2024)
Linda Bradley Pierce, 83, of Bullard, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 26, 2024. Linda was born to the late Bill and Dorothy Bradley on September 9, 1940, in Trinidad, Texas. A woman of intelligence and grace, she lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her faith, and the joy of sports.
A graduate of West Columbia High School, Class of 1958, Linda furthered her education at Sam Houston State University, where she earned her degree in 1962. Her professional journey began in Sugarland, Texas, where she touched many lives as a teacher and coach. Linda's career path changed when she began working at the Exxon King Ranch Gas Plant in Kingsville, Texas, until her retirement in 1996. Retirement saw her moving to Tyler, Texas, to cherish time closer to her family, a testament to her unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
Linda's passion for girls’ basketball and college football knew no bounds. Retirement did not slow her down; it simply gave her more time to indulge in her loves—mowing yards, bird watching, baking her pound cakes, and, most importantly, being an ever-present figure in the lives of her grandchildren. Linda's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she served the Bullard Methodist Church community with devotion until her health began to wane.
Linda's legacy is carried on by her loving sons, Byron Pierce and his wife Miranda of Bullard, and Jody Pierce with his wife Brandy of Paris; her cherished grandchildren, Justin Weeks of Laredo, Parker and Addison Pierce of Bullard. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Maryanna Miller of Simpson, Louisiana, and Susan Newman of Tyler, along with many nieces and nephews who felt her love and support in countless ways.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Stanley Bradley, and her son Jason Clay Pierce, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of East Texas for their compassionate care in Linda's final year. They have requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Linda's name to Hospice of East Texas (4111 University Blvd, Tyler, Texas 75701 or online at hospiceofeasttexas.org) to honor her memory and the exceptional care she received.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us to celebrate Linda’s life and legacy, and to share the stories and memories that paint the picture of the remarkable woman she was. Linda's memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2pm at Bullard Methodist Church with visitation to follow.
The Pierce family is profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Linda's memory will forever be a beacon of love, strength, and grace.
