Linda Morrow Hayes, 70, of Flint, passed away on September 11, 2021. She was born to Elmer and Berta Morrow of Tyler.
Linda retired from her position as office manager from Retail Merchants in Tyler after 40 years of service, and after retirement she worked a few years as secretary at Flint Baptist Church where she was a member.
In addition, she served as Ride Captain, Flag Captain and Treasurer of The East Texas Patriot Guard Riders for 10 years, as this was a passion she shared with her husband. Linda took great pride in honoring the patriots that served our nation, and it is a bit ironic she died on a date in history that took the lives of many patriots. Linda had the temperament of an Angel and the patriots she honored during her post with the PGR will be glad to have them by their side in Heaven. May they all Rest in Peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also had a love for all pets even if they were not her own and always treated her friends like family. She also loved spending time with her husband, family members and friends, tending to her flowers, attending church or the NHRA car races.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brothers Paul Ray, Buck, Ronnie, and Gary. Left to cherish Linda’s memory is her husband of 30 years, Brad Hayes of Flint, sister Betty Hicks of Tyler, in-laws Emmitt Hayes of Portland, Oregon, Tony Hayes and Barbara Siragusa of Chandler, Linda Bilderbeck of Hillsboro, Oregon, close friends Paul and Vicki Taylor of Lindale, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of customary condolences, donations can be made to the East Texas Patriot Guard Riders at P.O. Box 132593, Tyler, Texas 75713, with a designation “In Honor of Linda Hayes”, or flowers may be sent to Boren Connor Funeral Home in Bullard, Texas.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler, Texas with Pastor Sam DeVille officiating at 10 a.m.
