Lisa Nolley

Lisa Nolley of Arlington, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the age of 58.  She fought a two year battle of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) with grace, humor and courage.  She was born July 30, 1966 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the fourth and youngest child born to the late Dr. Jackie Watkins and Dorothy Watkins.

She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1984. Upon graduation, she attended Midwestern State University where she earned an associate degree in Radiological Science.  Lisa then moved to Arlington, Texas, and worked independently for many years as the owner of LN Imaging, as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

In 2023, Lisa retired after learning of her ALS diagnosis.  She and husband, Glenn began spending much time at their beloved ranch in Jacksonville, Texas.  You could often find Lisa walking the property in search of her beloved birds.  The ranch was home to many species of birds, including Pileated woodpeckers, Eastern Bluebirds and Scissortail Flycatchers.  Glenn and Lisa would often host groups of friends and family to visit at the ranch.

Lisa loved her friends, gardening, birding, and traveling. Lisa was passionate about raising and rescuing English Springer spaniels, so much so, that she would jump with delight whenever she saw one and would run up and introduce herself to meet a fellow spaniel owner.  She and Glenn enjoyed spending time vacationing with family and friends. Lisa was a true social butterfly, her sense of humor was well known and people were drawn to bubbly personality.  However, her greatest joy were her children.  They were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Glenn Nolley, and her three children, Guy Nolley, Lauryn Nolley and Landry Nolley, all of Arlington, TX.  Left with fond and colorful memories, are her siblings Lynne Watkins-Holiday of Wichita Falls, TX, Kevin Watkins of Wichita Falls, TX and Karen Watkins Thiesse of Grapevine, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Fort Worth Walk to Defeat ALS in honor of Lisa Nolley, 1950 Craig Rd., Ste 200, St. Louis, MO 64146,  or the Jackie L. Watkins Memorial Scholarship, Midwestern State University, University Development, 3410 Taft Blvd., Wichita Falls, TX 76308.

A service to honor Lisa’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11th at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76013.  A graveside service will be held at a later date at Rocky Springs cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas.
