On the evening of December 4, 2023, Marion “Beth” Buckelew of Tyler Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep and was reunited into the loving arms of her mother. She was born August 8, 1953 in Kilgore Texas, the daughter of Annice Lee Shelton and Billy Eugene Grimes. She was the oldest of 6 siblings.

Beth had a loving and carefree spirit and was very welcoming to anyone she met. She had a passion for reading and you never caught her without a book in her hand. She was a dry cleaner by profession and enjoyed it greatly. 

She is survived by her son, John Cooper of Tyler, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Eric Schuele of Garland, Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Heather Grimes of Nevada, Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carol Brown of Lakeway, Texas; her sister, Glenda Thomas of Sherman, Texas: her sister, Sally Whittenburger of Sherman, Texas: her grandchildren, Brittney Cooper, Logan Cooper, Zachary McGuffey, Alaina Schuele, Andrea Schuele, Nicholas Schuele and great-grandchild Luke Roppolo.

Beth was preceded in death by her mother Annice Miller, her father Billy Grimes and her sister Charollette Thornton.

It was Beth’s preference to not have a formal service but instead for her friends and family to gather and have an informal meal to celebrate her life. Date of the gathering is to be determined.
