Marshall Thomas Hill, 65 of Tyler, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2024. He was born on October 23, 1959 in Midland County, Texas to Carole and Billy Joe Hill.
Marshall was a devoted partner and husband to Christine for almost 20 years, and cherished his 8 children Riley Hill, Myste Robinette, Misty Dunn, Jeremy Mullins, Michael Simon, Rusty Wells, Rocky Hill, and Morgan Hill. He had been blessed abundantly and known as Pops or Paw Paw to his 18 grandchildren.
Some of Marshall's many talents included Master Mechanic, Glorified Chef (his elk backstrap was the best), Grill Master, Story Teller – he was blessed with the gift of gab, Sharer of Dad Jokes, and Playing Pool. He worked as a Master Mechanic for in Tyler for many years prior to being a local pumper over the last 10 yrs. Marshall was a fixer from oil rigs to big rigs and anything in between. His sons were lucky to have inherited his mechanical talents. Outside of his work, he enjoyed motorcycle riding and shutting down pool halls in his younger days. As his family grew, quality time relaxing under the carport surrounded with friends and family filled his free time.
“Dad” / “Old Man” was always only a call away, literally, he always answered the phone. His honesty was unwavering, “You know I love you, but …” His laughter was infectious and obnoxious comments always made us giggle as we shook our head walking away. His memory will live on and stories of his many adventures will be shared for generations. When you pulled up the smile on his face said it all before he ever got out of his chair as the words “There’s my baby!” crossed his lips. His irreplaceable “see you later” hugs were the best and will never be forgotten.
Marshall Thomas Hill is survived by wife Christine Hill, sister Lori Hill, children Riley Hill, Myste Robinette, Misty Dunn, Jeremy Mullins, Michael Simon, Rusty Wells, Rocky Hill, and Morgan Hill and 18 grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
