Mary Ann Richey Harris

Mary Ann Richey Harris went to be with our Lord on Monday July 9th at the age of 75. Mary was born in Gilmer, Tx on 1-20-1943 to Bonnie Blaylock Richey and Guss Richey. She was the only girl of 4 children. Our mother was a sweet loving and strong willed woman. She was blessed with 8 children to whom she was a caring and loving mother. Mary retired from Western Union headquarters as a union president in Dallas, Tx after 18 years of service. She then went to work for Richardson Police Dept. as a property technician for 16 years before retiring from there. Mary resided in Sherman, Tx for 32 yrs and was able to call Whitewright, Tx home for the last 5 yrs. She definitely had a green thumb and loved planting flowers. She especially had a love for roses for those were her mothers favorite. Mary always encouraged her family to follow their dreams and was always willing to give her love and support. Mary is survived by daughter Joyce Woodhead and son in law Robert Smith, daughter Kathy and husband Mark Wintz, daughter Bonnie and husband Bill Caress, daughter Elaine and husband Roger Reynolds, daughter Susie and husband Jeremy Rawa, daughter Nicole Harris and son in law Kelly Weimer, son Clarence and wife Vanessa Cole, and brother Jim Richey. Mary had 20 grandkids and 28 great grand kids. She is proceeded in death by son James David Harris, husband J.D. Harris, mother Bonnie Richey, father Guss Richey, brothers Foster O'Neal and Glenn Richey. She attended church occasionally at East Baptist Church in Dension, Tx. Our mother will be truly missed by all. Services will be held at Boren and Connor Funeral Home 550 S. Doctor M Roper Pkwy Bullard, Tx. Friday is family night from 6-8pm July 13th. Saturday services will start at 2pm July 14th. Burial will be at Larissa cemetary in Mt. Selman, Tx. following service. Brother Brett Castle from East Baptist Church will officiate.
