Morris Neal Alexander, 61, Jacksonville, passed away on the afternoon of August 20, 2024. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 27th, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville, to begin at 11:00am. A visitation will begin at 10:00am prior to the service. Bro. John (Bubba) Henderson will officiate the service. Interment will be at Tecula Cemetery.
Morris was born in Holland, Michigan on September 11, 1962, to parents Wesley and Vonna Lue Alexander.
Shortly after his birth the family moved back to Mixon, TX. Morris grew up in Mixon, he graduated Troup High School in 1982.
His first job was baling and hauling hay with his father and brother. He then went to work for Ritchie's Meat Processing in Troup and worked part-time at Tri-County Auction in New Summerfield. Several years later he helped maintain the beautiful landscape at Love's Lookout near Jacksonville. In 2002 he married the love of his life Dorothy Marie Purvis.
He attended every night of the Jacksonville Rodeo and the Jacksonville Tomato Fest. He loved to attend the high school football games at the tomato bowl. He loved his family and friends and he never met a stranger.
Morris was a Baptist and a member of Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
He is preceded by his Father, Wesley Patrick Alexander, Mother, Vonna Lue Alexander, Wife, Dorothy Marie Alexander, and Step-Mother Bernice Alexander.
He is survived by his Brother, Wesley Lynn Alexander and wife Deborah, Sister, Lue Ann Robles and husband Mario, Sister, Kathrine Arlene Hardy, Step-Brother, Artie Gene Roberson and wife Priscilla, Step-Brother, Bobby Roberson, Step-Brother, Grady Roberson and wife M.J., and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Zoellner, Logan Roberson, Max Roberson, Mario Robles, Nathan Cornett and Devonte Oree.
