Ms. Brenda Faye Flowers Phillips was born to the late Jeanetta Faye Flowers and Roosevelt Flowers on October 22, 1957. She grew up in Tyler, Texas and became a member of North Star Baptist church, which was founded by her great grandfather when she was a little girl. Brenda was educated through Tyler ISD and graduated from John Tyler High School in 1976. She began working as a secretary and her eagerness to learn helped her advance to new heights in several companies. After moving to Dallas, Tx in 1989 she eventually climbed the corporate latter to become the financial aid director of the ATI Technical Career Institute where she helped aspiring students obtain funding to advance their own careers.
Brenda is the mother of three children and the grandmother of seven whom she loved with her whole heart. She was known for her fun and loving spirit. She will be remembered for her tenacity as she battled life altering health issues for over 20 years, but never complained about her situation. Several times she was counted out by doctors only to prove them wrong and remind them that God had the final say over her life.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Jean Flowers, grandmother Justine Preston Biggs, and grandfather Oliver Biggs Sr.
On the early morning of July 3rd , Brenda was called to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Quintas Damon Johnson (Miyja), Brian Flowers Sr. and Ambra Phillips . Siblings- Donna, Sharon, Byron (Darlene), Michael (Casandra) and Raymond Flowers. Grandchildren- Kadavion, Jimoine, Chrislyn, Kaelyn, Brian Jr., Shelby and Trenton, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brenda also leaves to cherish her memory lifelong friends who have supported her during her most troubled times, Tarlyse Luttrell and Reginald Whitaker.
