Rhonda Michelle Mathis left this earth on July 30th 2021. She had a uniquely adventurous spirit, giving life all she had. She had friends from all walks of life, because she loved to give love to everyone. She loved elephants, black and white movies, all genres of music, and her cat POPO, but being Nawna to her grandkids was her greatest joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Elaine Parker of Elkhart, and brother Darris Pentecost Jr, of Houston. She is survived by her sisters, Lisa Parker and partner Caryn of Houston, and Terri Parker of Cleburn. Brothers Michael Parker and wife Tonya of Elkhart, Jamie Parker and wife Heather of Gilmer, and John Pentecost and wife Erica of Houston. Sons Jeremy Mathis of Elkhart, Jordan Mathis and wife Morgan of San Antonio, Logan Paynter and wife Emily of Lufkin. Daughter Leslie Collins and husband Justin of Palestine. Grandkids, Tayden Collins, Zander Mathis, Zoey Mathis, Hudson Collins, Aiden Mathis, Matthew Paynter, and Mason Collins. Her long time partner, and best friend, Larry Paynter. A favorite quote, "An elephant never forgets and I'll never forget you, I will love you forever." Funeral home is Boren-Conner in Jacksonville. Memorial services will follow.
