Rhonda (Timmons) Morrow, 65, passed away at her home in Tyler, Texas, on April 29, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on December18, 1958, to Arthur and Bernice Timmons in Lubbock, Texas. She spent her childhood there with her parents and siblings.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Charles Timmons.
Her living siblings include sisters Janice Powell of Tyler, Jean Huckabee of Whitehouse, Millie Timmons of Whitehouse, and brothers Calvin Timmons, Olan Timmons, and Dickie Timmons.
Rhonda was a beloved mother to Melissa Avery and spouse Ron of Tyler, Michael West and spouse Jennifer of Dallas, Brandy Tim mons of Ennis, Kimberly Partain of Tyler, and William Timmons of Tyler. In addition, she was a precious grandmother, known affectionately as “Monger” or “Nana” to 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her oldest granddaughter gave her the name “Monger” because she reversed syllables in words when she was learning to talk as a baby; thus “Grandma” was pronounced “Monger.” She liked the unique name, so it stuck.
Rhonda worked in the food industry, most recently as assistant manager at Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy Store in Tyler, but also had a long career at Pizza Hut’s Henderson location. She was known for her strong work ethic and also for being a second mom to many of her younger co-workers.
Besides her family, Rhonda’s great loves included the Dallas Cowboys and classic Country music. Despite her petite size, she had a sweet tooth and most of the time she had a family size bag of M&Ms within reach.
Rhonda’s family would like to share their appreciation for Heart2 Heart Hospice, who showed such care and compassion during the final months of her illness.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard with Heart 2Heart Hospice Chaplain Samuel Glenn officiating.
