Shirley Wynne, 79, of Bullard, TX passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, with her loving son by her side. Shirley was born March 15, 1943, in Caldwell Texas, to the late Richard Henry Cosby and Margaret Mae Inez Collins Cosby. She graduated John Tyler High School in 1961. Shortly after she married Roy “Sonny” Martin and they had their son, Richard. Years later she met Richard “Perry” Wynne and in 1970 they were married. In her early years she worked for Gulf State Phone Company and from there went on to Cotton Belt Railroad, and then she took an early retirement. At this time Shirley became an office manager in the survey industry and highly excelled. And it was not until leaving the survey company that she realized her passion was with insurance and that is when she began Wynne Insurance and continued growing her business for the next 30+ years. Shirley attended The Woods Baptist Church, and she loved the many friends there. She is survived by her son Richard Martin, and Jennifer of Bullard TX, stepson Chat Wynne and wife Michelle of Austin TX, grandchild Nicole Rodriguez of Tyler, TX, Brittany Martin of Tyler, TX, R. Maxwell Martin and wife Taylor, Richard Grayson Martin (great grandson) of Tyler TX, Conner, Aiden, Reagan, & Emma Grace Wynne of Austin TX, Justin Simmons and wife Jaycie of Mineola TX, David Simmons and wife Hannah of Jacksonville NC, Dakota Simmons and Hannah of Troup TX, brother Jerry Cosby and wife Janell of Tyler TX, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Perry, her sisters Reta Cambell, and Joyce Bradshaw and her brother Richard “Buddy” Cosby. Shirley will be remembered for her beautiful spirit and her love for her family and for her fur baby Callie.
