Tommie Lee Dodd, 83, went to his Heavenly home on April 6, 2021. He was born April 2,1938 in Tyler, Texas, the son of Tillmon L. and Mattie J. Dodd. Tommie graduated Tyler HighSchool in 1956 and married his High School Sweetheart, Virginia (Tompkins) Dodd June 20,1958. He went on to work in the auto parts and automotive paint industry working for PPGIndustries and eventually establishing his own business, Associated Auto Color & Supplies, Inc.from 1977-1991 in Houston, Texas. Tommie was highly regarded and respected in his industrythroughout the years. He retired in 1991 and was able to pursue many other interests includinghis love of hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with family. Tommie and Virginia movedto Groesbeck, Texas in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Dodd, and hischildren, daughter Tammie Dobrinski and son Tillmon L. Dodd. Grandchildren David BryanDobrinski and wife Danielle, Ashlee Dodd and fiancé Ryan Patterson, Laura Reddehase andhusband,Troy and Kyle Dodd. Tommie was blessed with 7 great grand-children, David Scottand Adalyn Dobrinski, David Luke, Sawyer, and Lillee Patterson and Channing and LaylaReddehase. His sister, Mildred Cade along with many nieces and nephews. Tommie waspreceded in death by his parents, Tillmon and Mattie Dodd, Father/Mother in law, Joe andKizzie Tompkins, brother Bobby Dodd, sister Charlotte Thedford, and son in law, DavidDobrinski. Services for Tommie will be Monday, April 12, 2021 at 10:00am at Noonday BaptistChurch in Noonday, Texas with burial to follow at Concord Cemetery in Chandler, Texas.Pallbearers will be Tillmon Dodd, Kyle Dodd, David Bryan Dobrinski, Troy Reddehase, RyanPatterson and Wayne Tompkins along with honorary pallbearers Jack Tompkins and BillTompkins. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Tommie’s name bemade to Providence Hospice, 6700 Sanger Avenue, Waco, TX 76710.
