Virginia Sue Anderson Ralston, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 15, 2024, Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 18th, 2024, at Central Baptist Church in Tyler, to begin at 11:00am. A viewing will begin at 10:00am prior to the service in the church. Dr. Chad Glover will officiate the services. The burial will be at Bascom Cemetery.
Sue was born in Shamrock, Texas on January 3, 1940. She grew up in the Lela community on a cotton farm and cattle ranch. Her childhood was filled with riding horses, chopping cotton, working cattle, and playing basketball and softball alongside her older brother. She was an accomplished athlete.
In 1958, Sue met the love of her life, Jerry Ralston, marrying him in 1959 and sharing 64 wonderful years together. They were blessed with three children, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Sue was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always supporting her husband in all his adventures.
Sue was preceded by her Father, William Newton Anderson, Mother, Opal Marie Anderson, Husband, Jerald Weldon Ralston, Brother, Jimmie Al Anderson, and Grandson, James Ralston.
Sue was survived by: Daughter, Vicki Sue Glover, Son, Keith Ralston (Laura), Son, Jay Ralston, Grandson, Dustin Glover, Grandson, Cole Glover, Grandson, Chad Glover, Granddaughter, Rebekah Ralston, Grandson, Richard Ralston, Granddaughter, Renee Ralston, Grandson, Elijah Ralston, Granddaughter, Jaylee Ralston, Grandson, Brooks Ralston, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous loving nieces and nephews, dogs, Shatzi & Sadi
Throughout her life, Sue pursued several careers. She was a preacher’s wife, secretary, convenience store manager, interior designer, independent business owner, children’s church director, and teacher, among other roles. Together with her husband, she built a house and started a fence company, where she mixed concrete and set posts all day, then went home to make dinner. Her work ethic was unmatched.
Sue overcame breast cancer in 2012. She was a consummate seamstress and homemaker, making her own clothes and draperies, and she was an excellent cook. Sue loved the Lord with all her heart and had a strong prayer life. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoying games and Disney movie marathon sleepovers with them.
Sue’s faith remained steadfast through good times and bad. She loved her family and friends with all her heart. Now reunited in heaven with the love of her life and together with her Savior, we celebrate Sue’s homegoing and a blessed life, lived to the fullest and full of love.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Glover, Cole Glover, Chad Glover, Richard Ralston, Elijah Ralston, Brooks Ralston. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kirk Anderson, Jim Anderson, Cody Camilli, Larry Joe Agnew, Scott Poeppel, Mike Griffith, Curtis Ralston
